Introduction
Management and Information Technology University, Sikkim (MIT University Sikkim) is a private university established under Act No. 11 of 2024 by the Government of Sikkim. Founded by the IMTS Foundation, the university was set up with one clear purpose — to bring high-quality, affordable and globally relevant higher education to the students of Northeast India.
Located in Namchi, South Sikkim, at the foothills of the Himalayas, MIT University Sikkim is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). For decades, students from Sikkim and the neighbouring states travelled far from home for a good degree. MIT University Sikkim was created to change that.
