Cancellation Policy
Grounds for cancellation of admission at MIT University Sikkim, the procedure to be followed, and the consequences of cancellation.

1. Cancellation by the Student
1.1 Submit a written request in the prescribed format at the University Campus Office.
1.2 The request must include:
- Original fee receipt(s)
- Copy of Application Form / Enrollment Number
- Valid Government photo ID
- Cancelled cheque or bank passbook copy in the Student's own name
NO CANCELLATION IS ACCEPTED BY E-MAIL, PHONE, SMS, WHATSAPP, SOCIAL MEDIA, OR THROUGH ANY AGENT OR COUNSELLOR. Only a written request at the Campus Office is valid.
1.3 The date the written request reaches the Campus Office is the cancellation date. Refund is calculated from this date only.
2. Cancellation by the University
The University may cancel admission at any stage, including after the Enrollment Number is issued, on grounds of:
- Adverse/negative verification report, or an invalid, unrecognised, or non-existent qualifying degree
- Forged, false, tampered, or fabricated documents, or suppression of material facts
- Ineligibility for the programme
- Non-payment of 100% fee within the given timeline
- Failure to rectify flagged document deficiencies
- Dual enrollment in another programme, against UGC rules
- Regulatory direction from UGC or any statutory authority
- Misconduct — ragging, impersonation, examination malpractice, serious indiscipline
3. Procedure
3.1 Ordinarily, the University issues a written intimation via registered contact details and the Student Portal, stating the ground. The Student may respond in writing within the given period.
3.2 IN CASES OF FORGERY, FABRICATION, IMPERSONATION, OR SUPPRESSION OF FACTS, ADMISSION STANDS CANCELLED IMMEDIATELY, WITHOUT NOTICE.
4. Consequences of Cancellation
- Enrollment Number is revoked; candidature ends
- Student Portal and LMS access is withdrawn immediately
- No degree, certificate, transcript, or credit transfer is issued
- The Student must return any University-issued ID or property
- Refund, if any, follows the Refund Policy
5. No Refund in Certain Cases
Where admission is cancelled for forgery, fabrication, impersonation, false information, suppression of facts, or disciplinary misconduct, no refund is admissible.
6. Legal Action
Cancellation for forgery or misrepresentation is without prejudice to civil and criminal proceedings under law, and reporting to UGC, the concerned Board/University, and law enforcement.
7. Amendment
The University may amend this Policy at any time; the website version prevails.
