MIT University Sikkim — Management and Information Technology University — was established under the Management and Information Technology University, Sikkim Act, 2024 (Act No. 11 of 2024) of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly, and commenced academic operations on 10 July 2025. The University is recognised by the University Grants Commission and holds membership of the Association of Indian Universities.

- Visit ugc.gov.in and search the list of universities under Section 2(f) for "Management and Information Technology University" under Sikkim.
- Check the Government of Sikkim Gazette for Act No. 11 of 2024.
- For a professional programme, check the statutory council's own website.
- For accreditation, check naac.gov.in directly.
- For AIU equivalence, check aiu.ac.in directly.
- Where anything does not match, write to registrar@mituniversitysikkim.com and we will respond with the supporting document.

- The University's approvals extend only to the programmes and modes published on the Approval & Recognition page.
- The University has no affiliated colleges, study centres, franchisees or authorised agents. Any person or entity claiming otherwise is not authorised.
- The University does not offer distance-learning or online programmes without specific UGC approval.
- The University does not claim NAAC accreditation, NIRF ranking, or any foreign university tie-up unless the supporting document is published.
- Before paying any fee, confirm the approval status of the specific programme and mode you are applying for.
- Report any misrepresentation about the University's recognition to registrar@mituniversitysikkim.com.
