Dear Students, Parents and Well-wishers,

It gives me great pride to welcome you to Management and Information Technology University, Sikkim.

When we began this journey, our goal was straightforward. The Northeast has no shortage of talent — what it lacked was access. Bright students were leaving the region every year in search of a good degree, and too many never came back. We wanted to build an institution that would keep that talent home and give it a world-class platform.

With the support of the Government of Sikkim and the establishment of this university under Act No. 11 of 2024, that idea became a reality.

Our commitment is not limited to classrooms and certificates. We are building an institution where students learn to think independently, work ethically and contribute meaningfully to society. Reserving 25% of seats for Sikkim domicile students, offering merit scholarships, and reserving 50% of non-teaching posts for local residents are not gestures — they are the foundation of our social contract with this state.

To our students: your background will not limit you here. Work hard, stay curious, and use every opportunity this campus offers. To our parents: your trust is our responsibility. We will protect it.

Dear Students and Colleagues,

Welcome to MIT University Sikkim. A university is judged by one thing above all — what its students become. Everything we do here is measured against that standard.

Our academic framework follows the Choice-Based Credit System and is fully aligned with the National Education Policy 2020. This means our students enjoy real flexibility: interdisciplinary electives, multiple entry and exit options, credit transfer, and skill-based courses that carry genuine weight in the job market. A student of Management can study Agriculture. A student of Paramedical Sciences can build digital skills. That freedom is deliberate.

We also insist on practice. Internships and hands-on training are mandatory, not optional. Theory that is never applied is theory that is quickly forgotten.

For our faculty, my expectation is equally clear — teach well, research seriously, and remain available to students. Our target of 100+ research publications annually by 2030 is ambitious, and we intend to meet it.

To every student joining us: you are part of the founding generation of this university. What you achieve will define our reputation for decades. Take that responsibility seriously — and enjoy it. My office door remains open to every student.

Dear Students,

The Registrar's Office is the administrative centre of the university. From your admission to your degree certificate, every official record of your academic life passes through this office.

Our responsibilities include admissions (eligibility verification, document scrutiny and enrolment), examinations (scheduling, conduct, evaluation and results), records (student registers, transcripts and migration certificates), certification (degrees, mark sheets and credential verification), statutory compliance with the UGC and the Government of Sikkim, and secretarial support to the Board of Management, Academic Council and other statutory bodies.

We are committed to transparency and timeliness. Every application submitted to this office is acknowledged, tracked and resolved within the prescribed timeline. If you face any delay or difficulty, please write to us directly rather than relying on informal channels.

Students are advised to keep all academic documents safe, verify personal details on official records immediately after enrolment, and use only the university's official email and payment channels.
