Course Overview

About Diploma in Instrumentation Course

Diploma in Instrumentation is a 3-year full-time diploma that builds your understanding of how technical systems and structures are designed, tested and maintained safely, with Instrumentation as the main subject through all 6 semesters.

Teaching combines classroom sessions with workshop and laboratory sessions, drawing and CAD practice and measurement and testing exercises, so what you learn in theory is immediately practised. You finish with Diploma in Instrumentation and a record of work you can show to an employer or a university.

The value of Diploma in Instrumentation

  • A single clear subject focus: Instrumentation, studied properly for 3 years rather than spread thin.
  • Practical work every semester — workshop and laboratory sessions, drawing and CAD practice and measurement and testing exercises — so you can show what you can do, not only what you studied.
  • Subject choices that stay relevant: Instrumentation: Practical Lab / Workshop, Industry Internship and Digital Tools.
  • A degree from a UGC-recognised state private university, valid for employment and for further study.
  • Small campus, direct access to faculty, and daily classroom support at Namchi, Sikkim.

What you will be able to do

  • Read and prepare technical drawings in the context of Instrumentation.
  • Apply standard testing and quality procedures in the context of Instrumentation.
  • Use core engineering software tools in the context of Instrumentation.
  • Work safely to documented procedure in the context of Instrumentation.
  • Complete a Instrumentation project or internship and present it to faculty.
Faculty access

Batch sizes stay small enough that Instrumentation faculty know each student, review project work individually and are reachable outside class hours.

Practice-led teaching

workshop and laboratory sessions, drawing and CAD practice and measurement and testing exercises are scheduled into the timetable, not added on. Assessment runs continuously through the semester.

Career preparation

Resume writing, communication and interview practice are part of the programme, aimed at the roles Diploma in Instrumentation graduates actually apply for.

Namchi campus

Classes for Instrumentation run on the Namchi campus at Assangthang, with classrooms, library and workshop facilities on site.
